Working from his Glasgow studio, Gordon paints a range of subject matter in his pieces, ranging from quirky portraiture to emotive land and seascapes, with his deep love of the West Coast of Scotland shining throughout.
His colourful kaleidoscopic landscapes, often with wee houses and smoking chimneys (lums) are contrasted with his much loved paintings of wee old ladies (his ‘Biddies’), Belted Galloway Cows (’Belties’) and also boats - characterful Clyde 'puffers.'
Often bringing an instant smile to your face the minute you see them, within each painting is huge amount of work, building layers of colour that keep you noticing something new each time you return to view.
Demand for Gordon Wilson artwork continues to grow and he has recently been working on some of the largest paintings he’s painted to date – “they need big walls!”
